was quite the trip, indeed! We drove up to Strawberry Reservoir Friday night, and pitched our tent under some old pine trees to try and get as much cushion as possible from the dead pine needles. It took us about half an hour to get the fire started because just hours before that a huge rainstorm had passed by, and we didn't bring any Boy Scout Water with us. But after some persistence, 4 dozen sheets of paper, and me trying to syfer out gas from the truck gas tank with a long stick,
(yeah I know..What was I thinking?) we got it started. I had made tin foil dinners for the night, and had no idea how long it would take them to cook, so we decided we would just leave the fire going
(not the safest idea we realize) and when we came back, there would be plenty of coals to cook them on. So we left to go fishing for a few hours because we were just so eager to do so!! Well, Jordan and Gary have their own "spot" where all the fish are so Jordan pulled off the side of the road, and we hiked down there. Little did I know that it was a hike..like a

ke!! After, about 1 1/2 miles of hills of sage brush, no trail, and packing all our equipment, we get to the "spot!" We plopped our poles in the water, and spent a good 1 1/2 hours there, and I caught one fish. Then it started to get dark, so we packed up all of our stuff and started to hike back to the truck (all uphill) convinced that our bad luck was just because it wasn't the right time to really, really fish. We finally got back to camp at about 10o'clock, and I immediately put the dinners in the fire because I knew I had a starving hubby. Well.... to make a long story short...It took
FOREVER for them to cook and we didn't eat until 11:30. Plus, no one ever told me we had to flip them :]
Perfect :] So they were burnt! So Burnt! And Jordan still ate them because he was sooo hungry, but I couldn't; they tasted SO bad! Basically my cute little campfire dinner idea went completely wrong, and I ended up stuffing my face with the bag of marsh mellows. We were longing for bed time, both really tired, so we crawled in our tent and went to sleep.
Sleeping in our tent wasn't that bad, I was just really cold like usual. We woke up early, had breakfast, and drove back down to our "spot." We hiked all the way there, stayed for about 45 minutes, then Jordan said,
"I don't think this is the right spot. Yep...I'm actually sure this isn't the right spot," as he looks at me with this sheepish 'please-don't-be-mad' look. So I told him we came here to catch fish, so let's just go where the fish are. So basically it turned out that the "spot" really wasn't the "spot" and we needed to go find a new "spot." So we packed up our stuff, hiked all the way back to the truck, and drove until we found the real "spot." Then we had to hike just as far, if not further, to this new place. And can I just say that Jordan is like a flippin mountain goat. He hikes and walks SO fast, so I'm at least 10 yards behind him the whole time. Periodically he would look back and say,
"Do you still love me?" to which I would honestly reply,
"Yes." lol It's
HARD to stay mad at him. Finally we got to the legit "spot" and we had a blast!!! We caught about 17 overall in just a few hours, Jordan caught the most, but I caught the biggest. We had so much fun :] Apparently fishes don't eat lunch, so at about noon we packed up and trudged back to the truck. Then we packed up camp and drove home, where I may or may not have fallen asleep sparatically along the way.
All in all, it was an adventure, but what else would you expect from us. We have fun together, and there is
NEVER a dull moment!
