Meet Honey

I
sn't she SWEET?!
Let me tell you the story.

So a few weeks ago on August 31, I was making dinner in the kitchen and Jordan was looking for things on KSL. He came across some Springer Spaniel puppies that were in Orem, and were just ready to be adopted. Jordan showed me some pictures and I thought they were adorable! He said that we should get one, in a joking sort of way. I agree with him, kidding as well, but secretly thinking in my mind what life would be like if we actually did get one. So as I'm cooking in the kitchen and this is sorta how the conversation went. (not word for word, but close enough)
J: I really think we should get one, they are only $$$ (this amount of money) and I want a hunting dog, and these are good hunting dogs!
K: Yeah! Let's get it!
J: Yeah I really think we should!
K: But babe, we aren't allowed to have pets at our apartment.
J: No one will know, our neighbors won't care either.
After seriously another 2 minutes of conversation, I came up with the bright idea that if we did get a dog, I would pay for it with the money I have saved up for Jordan's birthday present. And this is what happened next:
We decided after dinner we would go look at them.
Then it was...well, bring the money just in case we find one we like.
And then by the time we were in the car, it was....we are for sure getting one!
Honestly, it all happened that FAST.

We got to the house in Orem and met all the puppies. All 10 of them. We knew we wanted a girl, and we had 7 to choose from. There was one puppy that came right to me, and she had a cute face, so I held onto her for a while. We kept coming back to her and really liked her. We were just about to take her home, when I noticed another little puppy, because she was really, really little. Like much littler than all the rest. I asked the lady if she was the runt, and she said she thought so. I told Jordan I wanted her, and he said no. He said that runts are too timid and wouldn't make a good hunting dog. I picked her up and looked at her face, and it was perfectly proportioned, I just loved her. I told Jordan I wanted her then sat her down. She walked away and another puppy came and started biting on her ears picking on her. She took it for about 7 seconds, then turned around barked and snarled at her. Basically we found out then that she was a fiesty diva and Jordan was sold :] And that's when she became ours :] We paid for her, and took her in the car and she wasn't even shaking, she wasn't scared at all. We went straight to PetSmart to pick up a toy, collar and leash, and food bowls. We snuck her in our apartment, and Jordan went to Wal-Mart to get food, and I was supposed to give her a bath because she was filthy. Basically, a really sad experience! I swear she thought I was trying to drown her :( She was crying and scared, and it melted my heart completely!! But Jord got home and she perked up, ate a TON, and was content with getting to know her new parents. That night, she had me up every hour on the hour. I seriously didn't get any sleep, but the good news is is that 3 weeks later, she is sleeping through basically all the night.
We love her so much, try not to spoil her too much, and enjoy playing with her all we can. She's starting to get the potty training thing, and she's in her puppy biting mood where everything is worth biting to her. She's brave, very VERY brave! In fact, when we first got her we put her up on the couch, and she would jump off tucking her arms back like super man, and then she couldn't get her arms out in time for landing so she would face plant it. lol She wants to be big! She tries jumping up onto the couches which usually ends in head butting the cushions, and hangs out the car windows which I have to hold onto her for dear life! She's really smart, she already knows how to sit:] The night we got her she instantly latched onto my ponytail, and needless to say I am trying to break her of that habit, but so far no luck. lol She was born July 16th, so when we got her she was 6 weeks old. Now she's about 9 weeks old. You wouldn't believe how fast she grows, makes me sad :( I want her to stay little!!
Oh, and by the way, we named her Honey Bee Jones, that's what it says on her papers. Jordan let me name her, I have always had that name picked out for a dog, I thought Honey was just so cute!
We love our tini Honey!! I could kiss her curly ears all day long :]
(the video cut off short..not sure why lol)

Happy Birthday Hubby!!

September 8th, my wonderfully amazing husband turned 22!
That day was a Thursday, so that night we had a birthday at the park for him. I tried to make the party cute, it was the first party I have ever thrown, and I think I did an OK job. I set it all up and took pictures. Well, later on Keisha was trying to take pictures of Jordan opening his presents and she tells me there is no memory card in the camera. Perfect. So I have no pictures of the party or of this part of Jordan's birthday which makes me sad. But oh well, what do you do.
This year I gave Jordan 2 birthday presents: a surprise made in advance, and a surprise for both of us. lol Let me explain:
The surprise I have been planning in advance was:
Rascal Flatts Concert Tickets!
and the surprise for both of us was:
Honey Bee.

Both of these surprises have a very lengthy story to go along with them, so I will save that for another post. In the meantime, I just wanted to say
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!
To my handsome husband!
I LOVE YOU BABE!!

My Big Surprise

Last Friday when we were driving down to Nephi for a football game, Jordan handed me his truck keys and asked me to put them in the jockey box. I didn't think anything of it because he takes his keys everywhere, even if he doesn't need them. When I opened it, there were these little red streamers hanging down from scotch tape and an envelope very cleverly decorated with yellow and pink highlighters. It said, "Karol!" It made me instantly smile because it looked just like the envelopes he used to send me on his mission. I just laughed and had a huge grin on my face as I opened his letter. The front page of the contents was a very VERY sweet note that both made me smile and cry. (literally) At the end of the note he said, "However, this time I want to take you on a date where you want to go! Turn the page and find out!" And what did my eyes behold?!
So You Think You Can Dance Season 8 Tour Tickets!!!!
Basically I couldn't be more excited! I have the sweetest, most thoughful husband in the world! He makes me so happy, every single day! We are both so stoked to go. We marked our calenders, October 26th at the Maverik Center!
THANKS SO MUCH JORDAN!!
