Grandpa TJ

Theodore Jones 1935 ~ 2011
Theodore Orton Jones, beloved husband, father, grandfather, age 76 passed away May 8, 2011 in Nephi, Utah. He was born March 27, 1935 in Parowan, Utah to Bert Theodore and Elta Orton Jones. He married Donna Faye Malmgren April 16, 1955 in Levan, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the St. George LDS Temple, April 19, 1972. Raised during the last of the depression, he learned at a young age the value of hard work. He kept this work ethic throughout his life with many jobs. He worked as a sales representative for 16 years for Pexton Wholesale. In 1972 he built a new building and owned and operated TJ's Drive Inn for 18 years with his wife. He was employed by Mid-States five years before retiring at the age of 67. He gave services to his community by membership in the Lions Club for 40 years and serving as President. He was a member and president of the Ute Stampede Committee, member of Nephi Western Credit Union credit committee, and member of the Nebo Posse. He was a member of the LDS church serving as a home teacher. He was a fun loving husband, father, and grandfather. He is survived by his wife, Donna of 56 years; sons, Michael (Ann) Jones; Gary (Lori) Jones; Val (Heidi) Jones; 13 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren all of Nephi. Preceded in death by his parents; sister, Marie Bostwick; brother, Don W. Jones; great-granddaughter, Reggie Bell. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 11, 2011 in the Nephi Stake Center, 351 North 100 West. Family and friends may call Tuesday evening from 6-8:00 p.m. at the Anderson Funeral Home, 94 West 300 North and at the church one hour prior to the services. Interment will be in the Nephi Vine Bluff Cemetery.

I took this from Keisha's blog, hope she doesn't mind. The passing of Grandpa TJ was hard for the family, but if it makes them feel any better, the funeral was wonderful and peaceful! I loved the talks from each son, and really enjoyed the stories they told of their dad. I really wish I could have gotten to know TJ more, he seems like an incredible man who will be missed by many. "Families can be together forever," this is the greatest comfort we can have! TJ, we will all miss you so much!

New Favorite Quote

"I don't want to drive up to the pearly gates in a shiny sports car, wearing beautifully tailored clothes, my hair expertly coiffed, and with perfectly manicured fingernails.
I want to drive up in a station wagon that has mud on the wheels from taking kids to scout camp.
I want to be there with grass stains on my shoes from mowing my neighbor's lawn.
I want to be there with a smudge of peanut butter on my shirt from making sandwiches for a sick neighbor's children.
I want to be there with a little dirt under my fingernails from helping to weed someone's garden.
I want to be there with the children's sticky kisses on my cheeks and tears of a friend on my shoulder.
I want the Lord to know I was really here and that I really lived."

Pinewood Derby

I shoot myself in the foot that this post doesn't have a picture to go along with it.
But here is the story.
In our apartment complex, up and over one, there lives this super nice hispanic family. Well, Jordan and I have become good friends with the 2 little kids and mother who lives there. Julianna, 1st grade little girl, comes and gives me a hug when I get home and sometimes we color and play dolls. Ziiad, the little boy who is about 3-4 years older, is in boy scouts. Well, their dad lives in Mexico. Ziiad had the Pinewood Derby coming up and no one to make a car with. :[ So Jordan told him he wold help him make his car. (Just about broke and warmed my heart at the same time.) He cut out his car, sanded it, put on the wheels, and painted it together so that it looked "sweet" and got it ready to race.
Moral of the.story:
I love my husband and the example he sets for me! He is so sweet and loves doing service and inspires me to be the same way.

Region Track

Tuesday, Jordan and I ventured to Nephi to watch Mika run. I love watching him run, I get so nervous! The day was cold, windy, and a little rainy but it was good to spend the day with family. Mika runs the 400m, 4X400m and medley relays, but the 400m is "his race." He ran it in 51.8 seconds and placed 2nd which was great, his fastest time is a 51.5 though. He is a fast little (big) guy and he is only a sophomore! So he has plenty more improvements and years to come. Richfield boys won Region, so Congrats Boys!! State is May  20th and 21st, I can't wait to go watch!

Catch of the Day

I can't remember the last time I went fishing, and yesterday Jordan wanted to go so I was pretty excited. We went to Burston's by Mona, and were only there for maybe an hour before we got rained out. But I still had fun, but wouldn't ya know it...we didn't catch a thing! Not even a bite! Well......I take that back. I actually caught something.
A TREE
I caught the tree. Casted right up in it. And I could NOT stop laughing, Jordan just rolled his eyes and said, "Are you serious?" lol He kinda giggled too, he wasn't mad, but I thought he was!! Then I handed him the pole and ran to the car to get my camera as this boy was walking towards him. haha! I bet he felt like an idiot just holding this pole as a guy walks by! Haha! After we snapped a few pictures, it started to rain, so we left for home. We're going fishing to Deer Creek Resevior this Saturday and Jordan said we'll have better luck up there because there aren't any tree's :] Perfect! But who knows...I never expect any trip of ours to be boring :]
Gosh He's SO CUTE!!! :]:]
